[After His Heart 2013]

After His Heart was a new series on the Bare Tribe blog in which a lovely mix of women from different parts of the country with diverse styles, stories, and lives came together in one place to reveal the one thing that unifies us all: the fact that no matter how different we may be on the surface, we are all after God's heart. In Christ, we are sisters of the same family- daughters of the very same God.

I gathered together a handful of passionate and articulate women including bloggers, YouTubers, artists and advocates, ministers and mothers, sisters and friends. For a few weeks, they joined me with their guest posts to provide a snapshot of their personal journey towards God's heart.

We celebrated the truth that "Woman of God" doesn't ever look, feel, or sound like just one kinda' woman.

I'm so honored to have had such powerful and wise contributors for the series!

Rachel Ferraro of 321Rachel! Rachel lives in Basel, Switzerland with her Italian husband and 1 year old Swiss-Italian-American daughter.  She's a stay-at-home mom who hardly ever stays home and while she misses her Texan homeland, she's slowly coming to love the Euro-life that (she believes) was both forced on her and also gifted to her by God. She has a brand spankin' new blog here and you can find her on Instagram: @321Rachel. Rachel's guest post is here.

Cindy Foote of This Poetic Present. Cindy is married to worship songwriter Billy Foote who penned many well-known songs like "You Are My King (Amazing Love)", "Sing to the King", and "You are God Alone." Together they have recorded worship CDs and traveled to lead worship for nearly a decade- though Billy has been at it for twenty years!  Currently Billy is Pastor Over Songwriting at Trinity Fellowship in Amarillo, TX. Most of what Cindy knows about music, songwriting and authentic living comes from Billy.
Together they have adopted three children: Libby, who is currently 7, was adopted from China at 9 months of age; Gracie, who is 4, was adopted from Ethiopia at 4.5 months old; and Sunny who is 9 and has been home from Haiti for the past 7 months.  They are a homeschooling family with a big heart for worship, missions and adoption.  You can check out more of Billy and Cindy's music at No Double Yellow Line.  Cindy's guest post is here.

Brittany Gaydos is a wife and mom living in Seattle, WA.  She and her husband Tim have been married for 9 years and enjoy serving together in the local church.  They have two fun-loving, energetic young daughters and another little girl on the way.  Motherhood, for Brittany, has brought some of the hardest days and the most joyful and she looks forward to the responsibility of raising daughters after God's heart.  Her soon-to-be family of five live in a small, high rise condo in downtown Seattle and they are passionate about urban living and loving the people of Emerald City.   Jesus is her highest love and she strives to live out the Gospel daily as a Christian, wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. Brittany's guest post is here.

Abby is an Idaho native, an economics grad student, and wife/partner to the founder of forgottensong: a non-profit serving women and children in war-torn countries.

Jessica LaGrone is a mom and also a pastor at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, a 10,000 member church near Houston, Texas.  She blogs at Reverend Mother where she writes about having a foot in both those worlds and being imperfect, inadequate and available to God in both at the same time.
Jessica is a frequent guest speaker for congregations, events and retreats, and recently published Namesake: When God Rewrites Your Story.

Aubry Smith is a freelance writer and stay-at-home mom in Texas.  In addition to wrangling three children under 4, she enjoys cooking ethnic foods, reading how-to books, and being outside with her family. She writes about the intersection  of theology and real life at AubrySmith.com.

  2. Hey! How do I go back and read some of the guest posts from the After His Heart series? Is there a way to search for them? I think I missed some and I wanted to reread others.
